Maintaining your emergency power generator

In the event of a power failure you need to be able to depend on your emergency power generator! Scheduled annual maintenance of your emergency power system will help to ensure that the emergency power generator and the automatic mains/emergency power switching panel are kept in the best possible condition.

Genpower offers TotalCare

A maintenance scheme under which we take care of the annual preventive maintenance, both mechanical and electrical, of your emergency power system in order to ensure maximum reliability. If the preventive maintenance reveals any defect or problem, we will replace or repair the faulty component. Should a malfunction occur in spite of our high maintenance standards, Genpower offers a 24/7 service guarantee. Our own maintenance and repair experts are ready to respond to your call, day or night, should you find yourself with a malfunction on your hands. In addition, our extensive fleet of 300 generators, with output power ranging from 20 kVA to 2000 kVA, is at your disposal in the event of an emergency, ready for deployment in a minimum of time.

Preventive and corrective maintenance

Preventive maintenance

A Genpower service engineer will check the operation of the emergency power generator once a year, and will fill out a service report listing the work carried out. The report can be used to list recommendations to improve the running conditions of the generator.
Our preventive maintenance work includes the following:

  • checking the diesel drive unit
  • checking and replacing various filters
  • replacing lubricants
  • checking the cooling system and battery fluids
  • checking the mechanical condition of the system, including all fastenings
  • checking for leaks
  • performing a test run and checking various temperatures and pressures

Corrective maintenance

Genpower will replace faulty or degraded parts with new, repaired or refurbished parts.

Corrective maintenance includes:

  • replacing parts
  • replacing battery/battery charger
  • troubleshooting
  • repairing/overhauling generator
  • repairing/overhauling drive unit
  • analysing fuel
